thrihyrne: (asian text)
I haven't done a reading for ages, but it called to me so I did one for myself this morning. My primary focus was, "Where am I now, within myself?" and also an overarching question about work, present and future.the outcome )

So I've finished the back and left front of my current finishable project, as well as 1/3 of the right front. In a very rare warmish and sunny day, I hung it up on the clothesline to take a picture!

Today is a rare day in that I have the house to myself. My housemates both have jobs with JMU's food service and there was some big event all weekend so they both left this morning. Austin left around 10:45 to spend much of the day with his son. So I've been both busy and tranquil. I scoured the bathroom and did a load of laundry, but also, for the first time since I moved here, I actually did a ritual at the small altar I had set up. Yesterday had been a rather sorrowful day as I realized things about my relationship with Austin and that it will inevitably be coming to an end sooner than I'd thought, but after doing the ritual, as well as a follow-up tarot reading, I found myself in a place of peace that I haven't felt in ages. Another reason why I'm feeling more centered is thanks to fulfilling, grateful conversations with several close friends. Shout-outs to [livejournal.com profile] cim_halfling, [livejournal.com profile] persephone100, [livejournal.com profile] emansil_08 and [livejournal.com profile] koshweasley. I couldn't be walking this path without you.

And now to plug in and watch a couple of silly downloaded shows and maybe finish up the right front of the cardigan!

It occurred to me that I have several folks on my flist who live in England and you might be interested in coming to hear one of the services or concerts I'll be singing in during the week-long tour. I'd love for you to come and also to introduce yourself to me!! I think everyone on my flist knows what I look like; if not, email me and I'll send a pic off-list. Here's the singing itinerary: Ooops. I just realized that while I have the dates and locations, I don't have the times of day. I'll get that from my choir director tonight and post it tomorrow. But here's the dates and locations:
Thursday, June 24th— Lunchtime Concert in Lady Chapel of Ely Cathedral
Saturday, June 26th— Concert in Durham Cathedral – 2:00pm (okay; I have one time)
Monday, June 28th— Rehearsal and Evensong in York Minster
Tuesday, June 29th— Concert or service in Bradford Cathedral

Well, the movie first. I adore it. Absolutely superb, and I hope to be able to share a viewing of it with friends in the future. I also found the soundtrack so I can listen to it. I should make an icon, too… I teared up when Aisling was singing to the cat, and cried a wee bit at the end. Highly, highly recommended film.

So today has been pretty productive:
wrote a letter to my dad and stepmom
did research to ensure whether or not I could take my knitting needles on the trip to England (seems to be yes)
worked on my database consulting project for four hours
had brief but fun IM chat with Callum, who I'll get to see again when I'm in England
read part of a book
watched 2/3 of a House episode and knitted
went to a yoga challenge 75 minute class, then hung out in the sauna. Ahhhhhhhh.
came home and even though it was 8:15 p.m., decided to wash my filthy car
made a snack and finished the House episode; got caught up on LJ and email

Tomorrow I have two meetings, one with the executive director at the health center for whom I'm creating this database (what a steep learning curve!!), and then lunch with the director of the poetry center. As of tomorrow I'll have choir rehearsals every night, so not much down time. I do still hope to be able to have a new post of my original fic by the weekend, or during, and I'll be posting my [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest fic on Wednesday. Woot! New fic from me! Shocking, I know. :P It is anymore these days. Maybe I will write another couple of Gimli-centric gapfillers, and there is the Lee/Andrei…

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

Huh. Fun! And the irony of it being a card of sleep— well, I definitely have very vivid dreams and the occasional nightmare, so that part's accurate.
