'big name' fan artists?

I've heard back from Filament's editor about my article; I'll need to rework it and get some more feedback from people, but she also mentioned that she was going to consult with her lawyer about the possibility of including some slash fan art. I'm not really up on fan art as much as writers, and most of the artists whose work I do know is older- are any of you on my flist close with any of the more well-known (in HP fandom, say) fan artists enough that I could ask whether or not she would even consider having some of her art potentially included in a magazine? I'd like to be able to see some of the art before writing to anybody.

well i was going to say you could talk to alaanafair (or i could) about putting something up on hd_fanart to ask current artists, but it sounds like you have more than enough options already.

still, let me know if you're interested in that comm as a source, i do know three of the mods well.

oh! and i know red_rahl who still does a bit of h/d, though most of her stuff is comics.

my other artist friend is out of fandom so i don't think she'd be interested, but her stuff is gorgeous.

Would you mind asking your friend who's no longer in fandom? Especially if you think her work is beautiful. I'll get in touch with she who used to be cugami, but I'm not too hopeful.
