These posts probably wouldn't be so long if I posted a bit more often. Hmmmm.

The to-do list for myself that I wrote up last night before going to bed too late, yet again, was this:
    -Time Machine backup
    -Jog
    -make jello
    -leg work (side lifts)
    -knit

What really happened was what actually needed to happen:
-get up at 5:35 and talk to [livejournal.com profile] evannichols as I do every morning, and admit that I was exhausted and going back to sleep. I set my alarm for 7:21, but didn't actually save it before closing the phone. Thankfully I woke up at just the perfect time: 7:57.
-No jogging. I can do so after work. And I'm not training for anything; going twice a week is just fine. I'm doing isometric ab work and inner- and outer-thigh and hip work, so it's all good.
-I will make jello. For reasons currently mysterious and vexing, foods that I've eaten with no problem for years (ie: I don't know what is setting it off) are giving me a very upset stomach and unpleasant trips to the W.C. So I'm going to stick with really basic things for a couple of days: sugar free jello, instant oatmeal, celery, possibly chicken and noodles. And spinach.
    -Time Machine backup
    -Coffee

I soaked my feet last night. I'd returned home way later than expected because there was some signaling issue with a major hub on the commuter train line during rush hour last night. At the time when I should have been catching the bus for the last stretch of my return home, I was still 20 blocks to the west of the river, having abandoned the MAX and trying a bus instead. My feet felt so good, and I moisturized them, and applied the IcyHot creme to my always-tight-and-aching upper back and chilled out. It was 8:35 p.m. I'd left the house at 8:15 because I was doing so many errands prior to a very early 'lunch' with [livejournal.com profile] evannichols prior to my commute out to CompView.
To celebrate various ongoing markers of positivity that I'm accomplishing, I decided to get myself a ring. I'm realizing more and more that visual markers/talismans are key to my continued ease in making healthy decisions. And who doesn't like looking at jewelry? If interested, here are links I made for myself to return to after spending an inordinate amount of time looking at rings of silver with peridots, citrines and garnets. I'm a huge peridot fan; despite my love of the color purple, I'm actually not that fond of amethysts. Peridots and citrines, yes. And garnet is my birthstone. I've not been a fan, but of late, I'm giving them a second look. I did get a few of my fingers sized yesterday so I had an inkling of what size to look for. Turns out my fingers are on the small side.

Whee!!! I'll get a bit more serious after another week or so as I approach another meaningful date for myself. I also went to the closest Goodwill to me earlier this week in hopes of buying one or two pair of inexpensive jogging shorts with pockets. The pockets are important as my nose runs, and usually I just stuff 4 or 5 tissues into the waistband and/or elastic of my underwear. This gets messy. I found *no* athletic shorts in my size (which was surprising), but I did come out $21 lighter, but with two adorable (and well-fitting!) skirts and 3 fabulous pair of pants and capris (that are well-fitting!). Quite the score. And it looks as though my work life is going to be quite casual, so no need for suits or fancy shoes.

I'm feeling much better this morning than I did yesterday evening. My enthusiasm and joy and gratitude hasn't diminished or anything, but I was running myself ragged unnecessarily. Sleep is important. If I'm going to get up at 5:30 each morning, I really have to go to bed before 11:30. I was going through my affirmations when I feel sound asleep! I did have another really interesting and long dream this morning to do with a prior boyfriend and now long-time friend from college. My alma mater has been showing up a lot in my dream life. I wonder what it signifies! Maybe it's my subconscious being a bit miffed that I've opted not to go to my 20th reunion, especially now that I've found out it's a choir reunion as well. Not sure.

While I'm basking in all kinds of amazing positivity (which yes, has been a long time coming!!), there are a couple of friends on my flist going through very challenging times. You are held in light and in my thoughts.
