This one's for llembas. Began it months ago, it was abandoned, and then was finished up today. Do enjoy, though it does have a high angst content. It makes me cry, and I'm the author. It's R/S, in case you're wondering.
<--- hopeless
(off to go write hot, non-angsty smut for Romanticalgirl and Licia_North)
That was really well written. I've never read a fic that linked the episodes together with scent before, and it's very effective. And the scenes are all nicely chosen from their life together and apart.
Thank you so much! I did just go and take out one of the "[br]"s at the end of each line, but it doesn't seem to have done much, unfortunately. Oh well. It's over at skyehawke as well with proper formatting. I'm so glad that you read it, and also that it was a new concept to you. Which perhaps means that I'm not rewriting a tired R/S plot. Because I'd hate that! They do say that so much of our memory is tied up in scents, that smelling a particular odor can bring back a wave of things we thought we had forgotten, so I wanted to play with that a bit. And write about what Remus' life might have been like in the interim, as well as Sirius' return to "regular" wizarding society. They (R/S) were the first Harry Potter 'ship that I discovered, and I wanted to do them justice. I'm glad to hear that you felt it was well-written. Thank you again for reading and commenting. As you know, it's wonderful to know that one isn't writing into the void! ;)
