This one gacked from
celandineb.
1. Tell me one thing you love about me.
2. Tell me two things you love about yourself.
3. Look through the comments ~ when you see someone you know, tell them three things you love about them.
4. Do this in your journal so I can tell you what I love about YOU - and if you've already done it, tell me so, so that I can go back and give you some love.
~~~~
Of course I'm such an effusive person that this is bound to get completely out of hand. :)
And of all things, I'm in a completely atypical, non-angsty-romantic-writing mood and am writing almost-fluff H/D for
snottygrrl. There must be something in the weather. That or my antidepressants are really kicking in. Or I got a decent night's sleep for the first time in several days.
Hmmm. Makes me uncomfortable. Wish I could finish "Never Break the Chain." Time to write dark angsty Snape again. ;)
Let me count the ways...
Date: 2004-11-01 07:42 pm (UTC)2. Two things I love about myself? I love that I'm not as afraid as I used to be thanks to so many people I've met online, and I love my hair. I won't ever cut it. ;-)
3. And since I don't think anyone's commented yet for me to sift through, I'll just write three more things I love about you (mwahaha!)... I love how much effort you put into the letters you send so that even the envelopes are works of art; I love your lengthy and personal and thoughtful LJ posts that always seem to lift the corners of my mouth, and I love your FANFICTION! YAH!
4. Going right now...
♥
Date: 2004-11-01 08:03 pm (UTC)Don't ever cut your hair. When I come to visit I'll have great fun brushing through it and braiding it, if you'll let me. I love to play with people's hair, especially when it's as long as yours seems to be.
And I love your integrity, your thoughtfulness, "Seabird," your eclectic musical tastes, and I just can't get over the fact that you're still so young though you have such a an obviously seasoned soul.
♥
p.s. glad you like my fic. Hee. Off to go hang out in the parking lot at the zoo and write some right now.
Date: 2004-11-01 07:42 pm (UTC)1. Your interest in meta (I loved both "Under the Waterfall" and "Does Gender Matter")
2. My tolerance for all but the intolerant, and my work for the fandom community
Date: 2004-11-01 08:05 pm (UTC)p.s. love the icon. I need to rewatch parts of TTT, I think. I didn't even put on my Eowyn costume this year, but I could stand to see some Rohirrim again.
Date: 2004-11-01 09:29 pm (UTC)Let's see:
One thing I love about you: Just one? That's hard! Okay, I love the fact that you leave no stone unturned. You have an idea, and then you research it and read and explore until every facet of it, from the language to the technology to the setting, is verified and authentic down to the smallest possible detail. You don't visit worlds: you inhabit them. You've got the hunger of a scribe and a scholar, and that's the highest praise someone like me can give to anyone. :)
Two things I love about me: 1. I have exquisite taste in nail polish colors, if I do say so myself, and 2. I speak geek fluently and with great abandon.
Since I'm lucky enough to be getting to know licia_north, I'll say three things about her: 1. she's sparkle-goth (enough said, right?), 2. she wants to marry Neal Stephenson *grin*, which proves her superior taste and intelligence beyond a shadow of a doubt, and 3. she really cares, which comes across in each of her lovely posts. Glad I met you! ::waves::
Date: 2004-11-02 03:14 pm (UTC)I love you in so many ways (and I haven't even looked to see if you've posted this in your LJ because I am a SLACKER) that I can't begin to tell you. You do have exquisite taste in fingernail polish (you'd love what I have on my toes currently: shiny mid-green with a topcoat of pink sparkles, lol) and the fact that you are a geek and you're an academic and professional success is a constant inspiration to me. You're a brilliant writer, and will be published, and anybody who has surgery without anesthesia and lives to tell the tale and still has the upbeat personality that you do is going to remain forever my hero.
I only wish you weren't *quite* so popular so I could have coffee with you again, but there's always the Christmas holidays!! ;)
p.s. thanks for the comments about my research. I am a bit of a research freak, aren't I?!
Date: 2004-11-01 09:40 pm (UTC)Alright *ahem* :
1) I love that you have this way of expressing yourself, that not only is crystal clear, but gives insight and depth and meaning to everyone around you. It’s remarkable and awe-inspiring. You're just a star! (And also wow...everyones answers are dead on too. So also I want to sneak a little "ditto" in there ;-))
2) I love that I have such amazing friends and was open enough to have them and I love that I’m a little crazy sometimes ;-)
3) Meep! I only know Licia. Need to meet more people, but let’s see: Licia is one of those few people (like you) that I consider kindred spirits…we both search for the same things, its comforting to know I’m not *all* alone (lol that one was selfish), that her LJ posts, with their giddy infectiousness, always brighten up my day, and that she is first in line to comment on a warm, fuzzy, happy post such as this!
Date: 2004-11-02 03:17 pm (UTC)I love that *you* are so honest in your posts, even when you aren't in the best of spirits, because I have every faith that you're allowing the wonderful influence of people like licia to seep over to you and you'll be better for it. Certainly I am.
And, selfish girl that I am, I'm glad that you like my posts and stories!!
p.s. keep an eye on your mailbox. Snail mail is en route. ♥
Date: 2004-11-02 12:00 am (UTC)2) I love my teeth. And I love my incurable habit of being a pack rat.
3) *dashes off to post what i love about Licia and Lauren in their ljs.*
Date: 2004-11-02 03:31 pm (UTC)bastardsidiots wouldn't hire you, and that you're going to go to grad school.I should probably repost this in your LJ. I'm so backward.
Date: 2004-11-02 12:41 am (UTC)1) You move through this world with wit, grace, sharp intelligence and so much caring. I count myself lucky that I'm in the 'fellowship'. <-- notice gauche use of LotR reference even tho am not fanster... ;)
2) I love and nourish my obsessions (what harm can come of too much japanese crockery, or swatches of textured/patterned papers, or DVDs of british comedy series...?). I love the close and energising friendships I've scored through the yrs - as I get older, am realising how rare it is to be surrounded by ppl with whom I am truly myself and easily so.
3) I'm going to cheat on this one and just say something I like about 3 LJs I've semi-regularly read over this past yr. To Jen, Licia and more recently Amy - I love how you wear your gorgeous levels of geekiness on your sleeves. It's done with such a sense of affectionate intensity and I have learnt (and continue to learn) much from you.
Date: 2004-11-02 03:40 pm (UTC)Not knowing whether or not you'll post this in your rather private LJ, I love that you continue to be so humble, always insisting that you're not going to get jobs that then, of course, you *do* get. You're brilliant, have a very dry and sometimes unexpected wit, and are an incredibly devoted and non-judgemental friend without whom my life would be so much the poorer. Especially after... gulp... 18 years now.
I'm thrilled also that somehow, thanks to the convoluted shiny world of kindred spirits and internet connections you've gotten to know licia and jen and amy. My dream is for us all to be together, in real life. Sadly, that ocean just doesn't get any smaller.
