... I'm home. *sniff* But home safely, which is important.

Hard to believe earlier today I was outside the Edinburgh airport in the brisk wind, taking my last breaths of U.K. and non-recirculated air. Now I'm back in Nashville, and it's hot and humid. Ack.

But I'm home safely, the kitties and Mr. Thev seem pleased, and I have more stories to type in. Thanks again to all who were with me in spirit on my trip, and as soon as I have photos developed, I'll send the link.

And [livejournal.com profile] licia_north, I do have descriptions of the rings which I'll put in ASAP. I was just running out of time. ;)

And dear [livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl, thank you for keeping up with the G/R installments. I do enjoy some snarky Snape, and know you'll enjoy reading about Draco's rescue from yet another POV. It's in my head, and will probably be in LJ by the weekend. Gotta work out some more convoluted bits about qualities of magic before I contemplate the Vulcan mind meld Snape using George as a human pensieve concept.

Hee. And my friend Amy wrote me a filk! I'll post it tomorrow, or Thursday, depending on how hellish work is. Because right now it's 12:10 local time, so my body thinks it's around 6:10 a.m., I had the worst night's sleep last night, and no sleep on any of my flights. So... lots of awake time. I should go to bed. :P

(((hugs))) to my dear flist, and others who care. One other cool thing I have to post is that I received a random email from someone (maybe they were at my website? Dare to dream... no, that wouldn't work as this particular story is locked) who enjoyed 'Cartography of Fire' and hoped that I was writing/had written more in the series. Heh. There's just so much there... and I have Weasley_Worship to thank for that, and their Fred and George ficathon.

Okay, must get off comp, brush terribly fuzzy teeth, put on clean pyjamas, and go to bed. My body clock is *so* off right now.

Hi! I realize I haven't introduced myself, but I'm Lauren and I've admired your work for some time, hope you don't mind my friending you :-)

Can't wait to hear about your trip, sounds awesome :-D!

Oh... thank you!!

Anybody who says the magic words "I've admired your work" is definitely friend-worthy. I'll add you to the flist and you can read the prior entries.

Welcome to Thrihyrne, where it's HP-redhaired-centric with some RL stuff and even the occasional Tolkienfic!

Licia has always mentioned you on her LJ and I got hooked! :-D Your HP fic is incredible! And I abosoutely love your LOTR ones too. You are so talented, and I suppose I like to surround myself with great writers just to feel a little bit special :-) Thank you for welcoming me!

You are more than welcome. So glad to have you here- [livejournal.com profile] licia_north's stuff makes my knees weak. Such gorgeous imagery and unique voices for her characters.

But it pleases me greatly to know how much you enjoy my stories. Writing brings me so much pleasure, and I'm glad to share it!

And I've replied. Got some RL weirdness going on, which I commented on in the email. Now I'm off in search of lunch at home and to take the laundry down from the line. Yikes.

Rest? What rest?

Thank you. Hopefully I'll get the new stuff written and input this weekend. I also need to move all of the G/R stuff (to which you so thoughtfully commented, and thank you for that- I do have replies, but I'm *swamped* here now!!) from LJ onto my flash drive. :P

I'm already anticipating the Snape stuff. *g*

Good to hear you're home safely! Rule of thumb for time adjustment is supposedly one day per hour of clock change; some people have more or less, and for some folks shifting forwards is easier than back, or vice versa. Which I suppose adds up to say it's pretty unpredictable... ;-)

Welcome home!

Wow...

... so it'll take me awhile. Actually, I already feel acclimated, but that's probably willful delusion. ;) Though maybe not; I usually don't get jet-lagged going to Australia.

Glad to be back! Hope you got your postcard. :)

Card arrived today! *grin* Thanks ever so, to use a rather old-fashioned Britishism...

You could get lucky and be one of those folks who adjust quickly, too - who knows?

Welcome Home!

I'm so glad to hear that your safe and sound, and that you enjoyed every moment of your trip. I sure enjoyed reading your adventures!

And wahoo on the muse cooperating. That's such a great feeling, no?

Take it easy and ease yourself back into rhythm and you'll be right as rain in no time!

I'm glad you are home.

He's 17 today. Does that take him out of jailbit range yet? No? Dangit!

Well, in some southern states (which I can only say because I live in one)... Just kidding!! Yeah, it's a bit of a shame that Rupert is still so young. Now the Phelps twins- 18!! Woot! Alan Rickman, too. *g*

Today's Bilbo & Frodo's birthdays, as well. A banner day.

Thank you so much! Yes, the muse has been positively drenching me with ideas and stories. Very grateful for that.

I'll try to relax, but we'll see. Being back at work is a bit of a bummer. I quite liked not having a schedule!!

Welcome home, love. :) So glad you've had your adventure! May it be only the first of many. . .I may not have commented, but believe me, I kept up every day, from the weather to the tooth and all. . . .

Hope to see you tonight before I leave on my own mad escapade, mild as it is. In any event, glad you're safely back, sweetheart. :)

Love always,
Febobe :)

Yay- I'll get to see you!

And only in a few hours!! Most excellent. I'm glad to know you've been keeping up as well- some lows, some highs, and definitely worth it. I'm still in denial mode that I'm back, but knowing that I had you all to hang out with tonight has made it much more bearable.

((anticipatory hugs))

Yeah- I'll definitely need to contact Shutterfly so I can get the envelopes and stuff and then subject you all to slideshows of sheep, isolated red phoneboxes and me at the Callanish Standing Stones, barely able to stand up against the wind. :P

More stories coming soon. Thanks again for coordinating last night's dinner. I'll need to have people over again, I guess- or if we were all willing to risk the weather, we could go out to Radnor and have a picnic.

♥ your LJ icon, BTW! Liam. Yummy.
