Busy Brain/Insomnia

Ugh. First morning back to work in two weeks, and I'm here at 6:40 a.m. Why? Because I had prossibly one of the worst night's sleep I've had in ages. Went to bed at 11, lay in bed thinking about the 4 different stories I'm working on until around 12:15 a.m. when I was giving serious consideration to just getting up and going into the den to write them all down, but we had the kids spending the night (stupid Davidson County gives the teachers an "inservice day" so they don't go back to school until tomorrow and my husband is taking the day off to be with them), and I didn't want to wake them up or risk the cats going crazy. Then I woke up and 10 minutes later hubby's alarm went off, indicating it was 5 a.m. I lay there another 30 minutes, then gave up. I left the house without waking anybody up.

Oh well. I'm at the office, which I'll have to myself until 9:00, so maybe I can get down on paper (or virtually, anyway) what was swimming madly through my head.

Some dates of note:
- Jan. 3rd; Tolkien's birthday. Happy Belated, JRRT!!!
- It's now about 2 weeks short of one year ago when I fully discovered Tolkien-based fanfiction and went absolutely nuts.
- Two years ago I had seen FotR at least 3 times and had just begun reading Lord of the Rings, the first Tolkien I had read. I was 32.

Hard to believe how dramatically my life has been influenced since first seeing Fellowship two years ago.
