My hands were shaking this morning after I looked at the Open Scrolls archive. I had uploaded my first long story and was visiting to see if anyone had reviewed it (not surprisingly, no one had). But instead, on the front page, Scribe, who does in-depth reviews of stories from time to time, had picked one of mine, written for a “religion in Middle-Earth” challenge over at
edeainfj 's forum, Parma Eruseen.
*GAH!!!* My story! One of my stories! For a fortnight, highlighted on the front page of Open Scrolls .
*basks* Ah.
Validation.
postscript: Weird Al Yankovich is hysterical. My favorite of the DVD that my stepkids and I have been watching is “Living in an Amish Paradise.” Sheer genius. "... churning lotsa butter; Raise a barn on Monday, soon I'll raise anothah..."
Now, off to see a Tolkien friend who I haven't seen in months; we'll drink Irish Coffee, diss RotK (except for the fabulous beacon-lighting scene), and maybe even watch part of Pirates of the Caribbean and exchange belated Christmas prezzies. Hee hee!!

Diss RotK? Oooooh, we're going to have an interesting time when you and I get together. . . . ;D Fighting words, dear, fighting words those are!
It may have been a good thing you passed on Trilogy Tuesday after all, then. . .I don't know whether you could've tolerated the amount of squealing and sighing that went on afterwards among our little clan of hobbits. :D But we missed you!
Hugs and love,
Febobe :)

Well, you know. I'm all about the Rohirrim, and my love story got removed from the film. ARGH!!! But even seeing it the second time, I still don't like most of it. The irony of this (and you especially will think this is amusing) is that my husband went and saw it last night (this will tell you something, too, that I opted to stay home and have 4 hours to myself instead of see RotK for a 3rd time, with him buying!) and even he cried at the end. I haven't been able to wrestle any emotional response while seeing it- with the exception of the beacon lighting. Now that stirs my soul.
We'll talk. *giggle*
