◎ A quick movie rec: "Men With Brooms," an adorable film about— the sport of curling. It's much more 'Evan-friendly' than 'Thev-friendly' with a happy ending (I tend toward higher angst), but I really enjoyed it.
◎ Even though I wasn't enthusiastic at all, I did go for a jog yesterday after returning home from my long commute back from Beaverton. I'd had an interview for a half-time position (but for a two-month time period) that had been pushed back from 2:00 to 3:30-- after I was already nearly at Evan's workplace. Anyway, I went out, enjoying the clouds and hoping that the spitting rain wouldn't turn into a downpour while I was out. It didn't, and I ended up listening to music rather than my audiobook, and really got into a groove. I was actually bona fide running, not jogging, for about a mile and a half in there. It felt GREAT. I got back to my house and one of my housemates said, "You're glistening," and I replied, "Yep! Just jogged three and a half miles." He looked at me, stunned, and said, "You look like that? Jesus Christ!" Thankfully I get in (and out) of conditioning pretty quickly. It did occur to me that if I jog 5 days a week, which is the plan, I'll be jogging over 17 miles a week. Not too shabby!
◎ I wrote last week that my contact at the placement office that's actually sent me out on an assignment had the potential for a two-month position at a company. I met with their marketing director yesterday. We *really* hit it off, and in our conversation, it turns out that what they're looking for is even more up my alley than the original job description. Our half hour finished with her all but saying that I was perfect for it and when could I start! When I got home and checked my phone, turns out that was what she'd relayed to the placement officer as well! It would be 1-5 Mon-Fri with a commute reminiscent of the one when I briefly was out in Tigard, but with my knitting projects, I really don't mind. The pay is much more in keeping with what I believe my skill set is worth, and the environment should be great. No, it's not full time, nor permanent (or not necessarily), but what a fabulous way to get back into the work world. Low stress, not a call center, using my brain and my analytical skills and having pleasant colleagues and I can still have my mornings to work on my Secret Endeavor and/or get my exercise, write (???), and continue to look for something permanent and interview. I'll post more once I have all of the details.

And now, to finish beta'ing a story for a friend. :D :D :D
