Another cold, busy day

So my trip to the DMV yesterday was in vain. I got out there only to discover that yesterday their systems were down in regards to issuing new licenses. So I got to sit there with my book for 50 minutes until the bus came around again and without a Virginia license in hand. Urg. I think I'll go out first thing Tuesday morning and try again, hopefully with success this time!




Woo hoo! Snow and no heat in the house. Fabulous. :P I have on multiple layers, my own pair of hand-knitted fingerless gloves, and there's a full pot of coffee in the kitchen. I also had half a grapefruit that I bought a while back that was quite yummy.

So Austin's friend didn't come by yesterday but will today. I spent most of the day watching some shows and knitting and spending a little time on the phone; today will be more of the same and maybe some reading under the electric blanket. Very exciting, I know. But I'm having a very, very calm and quiet weekend, and I've needed that.

EDIT: Had a stroke of genius, called my stepdad, and he's going to bring over a space heater that we can borrow until we don't need it. YAY!!! :D

Well it does look rather lovely, not that that is warming greeting. Sucks about the DMV, and it would just figure.

Doesn't it figure with the DMV??! And yay for calm and quiet. I have several shows downloaded and I'm going to sit here with my knitting and make a couple of other phone calls. Plus I called my stepdad and he's kindly going to bring over a space heater we can borrow rather than buy as this week is only going to be in the 40s and I don't want us to be miserable. Yay for heat!

Can you call the DMV on Monday before you leave the house? That way, you won't waste a trip over there.

Not a bad idea! I'm going to be leaving earlier than the DMV is open tomorrow morning— I'll just chance it. They assured me on Saturday that everything would be back to normal today so I guess I'll trust them. :P
