"I don't wanna work..."
Jul. 8th, 2004 08:34 amEDIT, 12:36 p.m.
I'm absolutely crushed. I had been so looking forward to having a 3 day week, only to be horribly (and accidentally) reminded that because Monday was a holiday, we don't have tomorrow off. I have been living for this 3-day weekend since I went on "vacation" in NJ. AIGH. *explativexplativexplative*. Dammit. I know I should be grateful to have the 3 day weekends, but I do so poorly when I look forward to the ever-rare time alone and to have it vanish makes me extremely cranky. Bugger.
Today at work is going to be so hideously boring I just don’t even know what to say. An all-day marketing “retreat.” We are “retreating” to our own conference room. Do I really need to spend several hours listening to my coworker explain the media buys he made last year and what he’s going to do next year? No. Can I explain why people do or don’t buy opera tickets and when? Maybe, but only for about 10 minutes. He has a whole powerpoint presentation made that I’ve looked at. I’ll be lucky to stay awake. I’ll definitely have my knitting- at least I can be doing something productive. Would much rather be one of the only 2 staff members not involved, and actually doing my job- interspersed with traipsing through Ljs and probably reading some fanfiction.
Ugh.
On the plus side, I do get a nice box lunch. And I only had a three day week this week and I’m planning to do major writing tomorrow. And getting a nap, or at least trying. I seem to have lost the ability to nap, as well as the ability to get my ass in bed before 11:30 or midnight. Maybe rent some more QaF too, as I have a 99 cent rental coupon that expires at the end of the month.
Thank you,
celandineb, for yet another postcard! Edinburgh! I enjoyed my one day there, but really preferred Glasgow. You must be having a great time. My mom and brother flew to England last night- they called me from the airport. Wish I were going.
