Not dead, just busy

Sorry I’ve been so quiet of late; had the kids this weekend, but in addition to finally getting a hair trim, I got a surprising amount of writing done. Since the pairing may shock some of you, I’ll put the topic behind a cut. It’s not that shocking, BTW, but not any of my usuals.
I’m participating in my first “by request” fic thingie (Fred and George Ficathon) hosted by the LJ community "Weasley Worship" (yes, I have no shame; I'm a member) and coordinated by

Sirius/twin(s), Remus/twin(s), Charlie/twin(s)
Post-Hogwarts was ideal but not necessarily, she wanted the couple/trio to be equals in and out of the bedroom, and “for god’s sake, don’t have the twins finish each other’s sentences.”
Well, surprise surprise, I’m actually going great guns with this. After the initial shock of “Oh my. Now what?” I figured out a post-Hogwarts (by a few years) possibility for option #2, set within the parameters of my story "Together, Alone". Not to spoil it for you, but Fred dies. So anyway, I’m 15 pages into this new story because there had to be a fair amount of making sense story to get two people of such different ages and backgrounds together in a realistic sense. And hey- there’s already enough PWP out there, and not nearly enough stories about Fred and George that aren’t twincest and take the characters seriously. At least I don’t think so. So I’ve been writing a lot, even more so after

So now, couple of quick Harry Potter questions for those of you who know HP canon in ways I know Dwarvish canon:
~ Do you think that it would be possible for George not to know that Remus is a werewolf? I mean, he retires from Hogwarts, but I have the impression that only H/R/H really know why, as far as students go. For all of my rereading of OotP, I don’t know that he ever comes out and tells anyone in the house that he is; aside from Harry noticing that he visits the other werewolf when they’re at St. Mungo’s when Arthur is in the hospital, there’s not other reference, I don’t think. Anyone? I think it’s entirely possible that the twins wouldn’t know about his condition, since they are pretty self-involved, to be perfectly honest.
~ Are the Head Boy and Head Girl named in OotP?
I’ll be travelling to visit my family and attend a coworker’s wedding and hopefully get to visit in edrys over the next couple of weeks, so I may not be posting much, but I’ll try to keep up with you all on my flist.

As for your first canon question, if I recall correctly Snape announced to all the Slytherins at the end of PoA that Lupin was a werewolf. It's hard to imagine that that news wouldn't have spread throughout the entire school in a matter of hours. And since Fred and George are insatiably curious, I think they would find out that juicy gossip very quickly.
In OotP, Sirius says of Umbridge that she passed a piece of anti-werewolf legislation "two years ago" that made it impossible for Remus to find a job (implying, in my reading, that Remus had been able to hide his condition before that and get some kind of work), so I think Remus was outed all over the place at the end of PoA. The Slytherin students probably sent owls to their parents ASAP, for one thing.
Minx, you're the best!!
Date: 2004-06-21 06:08 pm (UTC)Here's another element that I want to work into the story, though, which perhaps you may know: Fred and George give the Marauder's Map to Harry, but I don't believe that they know who the true identity of the creators are beyond the nicknames on the map. Harry doesn't tell them (Fred and George) after he figures it out, does he? I have a great idea of this fic in which George finds out that he's now involved with one of the original creators of that map that he used so much. Could be pretty interesting.

Date: 2004-06-21 10:11 pm (UTC)I don't think he does, no. It's possible that the twins might have heard Sirius call Remus "Moony" at Grimmauld Place, but I can't remember for sure right now if that appears in canon. I'll doublecheck later, when I have a chance.

Date: 2004-06-22 02:01 am (UTC)glad you're not dead, lookin' forward to gettin' your whingeing, and lovin' it that you're writing so much at the moment. can't wait to read finished products. meanwhile, back at the conference ranch, am trying to work out how to pronounce ppl's names (featured in my presentations) so I don't embarass myself in public...or, the worst, in front of the ppl themselves!
