Visit with uni roommate

She sent me the picture we had taken thanks to a passer-by! So here I am with Lauren, one of the two roommates I had my junior year. That year I was in a triple with two seniors. We realized that we were a unique set in that each of us were in different sororities. I wasn't very involved in mine; Lauren, Mandy and I were theater and choir folks and that's what brought us together. To compare and see that Lauren's and my baby faces haven't changed much, here we are from this past Tuesday, and then a picture from spring of '91, the two pictures taken 19 years apart. ;)

Yes, that's true! Lauren lost the bangs, and I've not been trying to keep my hair as wavy, but there's not been a major change. :)

I'm not surprised that Mandy hasn't changed— neither have you, for that matter!! We did have a great visit, and I'll definitely go over to spend a weekend with her in her 'burg!

Fun pictures! Where did you go to college? Those must all be local sororities - I've never heard of them (I did a lot of work with the Greek system when I was in grad school, as an advisor and in some research I did on gender issues, feminism, and sororities, so I became familiar with most of the national sororities).

Aren't they, though? I went to The University of the South, most commonly known as Sewanee, an Episcopalian school. The sororities were indeed local and still are as far as I know. I wasn't very active in mine, though if I could do over only one thing in my college years, it would have been to have joined the sorority Lauren was in. I wasn't as aware of my inner geek back then and I know I would have been so much happier.

Well, we were kids back then!! It was a great visit and now I'll be going to spend the weekend with her two weekends from now!! :D I wish you were that close. :(

Yay. Lovely photos. I remember seeing the sorority-shirts one before. It amazes me how young college students look to me, nowadays. Most of the time I think I still look quite young, as I'm still carded fairly often [at age 34!], but I have started to acquire a bit of fine lines under my eyes, especially in the last half year, I feel. ;p
