Since I had an entire ball of that yummy green heathered wool yarn from the baby sweater, I decided to knit myself a scarf. Seventeen years I've been knitting, and this is my first-ever scarf. Yes, I do tend to start off with fairly difficult things when trying something new, why do you ask?

I'm making another couple of pair of fingerless gloves as gifts for friends, though I must admit that the colorway isn't what I thought. It makes me think of fruit loops. :P

Going to eat and shower and take my notebook and knitting and water and leave the house and go away. Library, coffee shop, park, I don't know. But after a morning spent on the phone and then doing some cleaning, it's already been productive but not on M+M.

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

You look so distinguised there. And quite like someone I know--someone famous, not that I know personally--but I can't place who...

Oh, you're so kind! In some pictures I look like Miranda Otto, but in this one I feel like I look rather, well, frog-like. :P But it shows off the scarf nicely.

Thank you very much!! I do love to knit, and am very patient by nature. They go hand in hand, I'm pretty sure. And so lovely to see you around, even briefly! I'll be writing you another letter/card soon. ♥

I'm quite pleased with it! Thank you. It was a pretty day for most people, but part of why I moved here was because of the grey skies. I've been disappointed a lot of late when the day starts out so promising with grey and chill, only to burn off. :P

I LOVE the scarf! Green is my favorite color, and that's a lovely shade of green! Green is very becoming to redheads and, for obvious reasons, a flattering shade on you! The pattern is beautiful, too!

Green is my second favorite color. The heathered quality to it does make it lovely. Glad you like it! And I'm not going to be able to beta for you until tomorrow, but I should have it within 48 hours. :)

Ooooooo, Love that pattern! I need to stop knitting in front of my friends. They keep asking for me to knit them something. I have a list a mile long, lol!

It's really lovely! And found here: http://brookenelson.com/leafscarfpattern.html
:D

Yes, it's a hazard, knowing how to knit. In some fit of guilt or temporary insanity I agreed to knit a pair of fingerless gloves for my roommate. I have two other friends in mind to knit them for, though I may get yet another colorway in this variegated yarn I've grown to love for them.

Thanks so much! The one friend who's received hers did like them, very much. They're fun to make, especially since I discovered that the designer was somebody I'd fangirled in person about a decade ago! :D

Another knitting project

 You're too kind. The scarf is nice and snuggly and warm. I did finish those gloves and then a second pair! Now I'm on pair #3 and think I'll make a pair of the shorter version out of the green that you saw for another friend who loves green.

Thanks much! It is wool, but the yarn is so soft. I bought it initially for that baby sweater, though I was unintentionally cruel and swayed by the feel and color of the yarn. It's hand wash. I normally never do that to a new parent. :cringe:
