A few drabble/vignette requests

I'm freaking out. I have too much time on my hands! I'm between stories/waiting on return fics, and have all this... time! So now's your chance to request a drabble. It may be no-one's around to claim any; my recent posts have evidently not been very comment-worthy, which is fine. I suppose you all are allowed to have lives outside of LJ. :) Having been absorbed in HP of late, I'd rather not write anything in that fandom. I'll take the first six requests in these fandoms: Wraeththu, Tolkien, Swordspoint, Slave Breakers... I'll even try Lord John. If you request that, just be warned that I've listened to the entirety as books on tape and have realized that in my head I've been misspelling some of the characters' names, having never seen them in print. I'll get my hands on Brotherhood of the Blade tomorrow at the library. Gen or slash (m/m) is fine. Any rating is fine. Just list a character or pairing request, any key words or ambiance or what have you. If you requested one last time, maybe sit tight and I'll give some newer people to my flist an opportunity to request one. Then again, this post may sit quietly uncommented-upon as well. ;) I'll get them out before the end of the holiday weekend.

Not requesting (seeing as how I had one from you last go-round), but wanting to let you know where I've been. . .I buried myself in four 100-challenges and the Finish-a-Thon, and the deadline for the Finish-a-Thon is looming large! So that's where all I've been lately. :D A fun place to be, but kinda scary over here, so. . . .

But I finished the Finish-a-Thon fic! I'm just letting it settle a few hours before I get it posted up. WHEW.

I must admit I don't always comment on your posts, though they're usually so droll! Thanks for playing, and for requesting Velaxis! I don't know that I've written much about him.

"You beckoned?"

Arahal looked up from a sheath of papers, smiling at Velaxis.

"As a matter of fact, I did. Please, come in."

Velaxis didn't so much walk as glide from the entrance to Arahal's pavilion, fancying himself as a platinum-feathered swan. He sank gracefully into a chair opposite Arahal, an eyebrow raised in question.

"What can I do for you?"

A whisper of embarrassment flitted across Arahal's features and he took a deep breath, exhaling with purpose.

"Working with Swift the Varr has been draining. I haven't taken exercise like I should, and I've been asked to keep my focus solely on his caste training."

Velaxis looked on him with pity. "No aruna for you either, then?"

Arahal shook his head in resignation.

"That's a shame," Velaxis said. "I have some new gold clamps I was so wanting to see on you. The next best thing, then?" He was gratified to see a faint sheepish smile settle on Arahal's face.

"If you wouldn't mind, tiahaar."

"It would be my pleasure," Velaxis murmured with a voice like rich cream.

It was one of the privileges of being whom and what he was, the role he played, the pleasures he extended. After pouring Arahal some wine, Velaxis sauntered over to Arahal's temporary bureau, austere and forbidding. He retrieved the items he required and took up his place at Arahal's feet, still clad in his omnipresent black leather boots. As he removed them and rubbed oil into his finely-boned arches, Velaxis contemplated being the only member of the Hegemony and its staff to actually see the naked skin of Arahal's feet and know particular secrets behind the commanding officer's leather and enigmatic personality.

With a smile hidden by his long hair, Velaxis set to work, giving Arahal a pedicure.

Also the foot-thing... There's a bit in "Bewitchments" where Thiede's feet are described, indicating pearly-pink nail polish of some description, and naturally, you can't imagine The Aghama doing his own toenails! with one of those little foam toe-separators stuck between his toes. Someonehar else must have been down there... ;-)

Very good point about Thiede's toenails! I'd forgotten that element, but it works perfectly. Velaxis' talents are myriad and wondrous. ;) Glad you asked for a story about him!

Oh, oh, oh! I should have sent you your novel, but I am still working on it. Right now, in fact--just stopped to check my email! Going very well, I just always underestimate and have the attention span of a fruit fly. Tonight or later tomorrow for sure!!!

(I just finished a Richard/Alec, that I will post later, when I need to give my eyes a rest from the Epic!)

How about Wraeththu--Vaysh vignette immediately before or after inception. (Been done, but never fully satisfied me.)

Oh, wow! I love it. This is terrific and really does scratch the itch I had to read something about his inception that I could buy. Just perfect.

Of course, I agree with you and the har who incepted him: "Just survive your althaia. You're too gorgeous not to." The same way that in the books, Pell was uterrly compelling even before his inception. (Thiede had to have had good taste in the new-hara that he set his sights on to be his special ones.)

You set yourself up here, however. What happened to the no doubt absolutely adorable Esteban? You spit out interesting OCs like they were on sale for a dime a dozen. And write things like this so fast! I am so jealous.

You run along to your choir practice and I'll go back to your novel. (Turning off the internet for a while and trying to get it done! Although I may still go out to brunch with some people in a little while.) Be thrilled if you get a chance to look at the Swordspoint fic I posted later. It was not done quickly and still has nothing like the immediacy of this piece. Oh, well, whatever. We each do what we can.

If it's okay to request females in a gen setting, I would adore seeing some Éowyn gen!

Maybe with something involving her using or learning to use a sword.

If not, Aragorn/Boromir slash would be most welcome instead:)

I love and identify with Éowyn as a character so much and this was just PERFECT!

Whew! And I do write everything by hand, so I was able to re-type it in it's nearly identical form. Ah, the joys of being a neo-Luddite in some respects! ;)

BTW, should you want any other Eowyn icons, I made a slew of them a few years back for some of my female LJ friends. You're welcome to any of them if you'd like!

I almost always request a Wraeththu, but this time I'd love to see an Alexander/Bagoas. Maybe a reunion between them after Alexander has been away on some campaign or other where he couldn't take Bagoas with him. I'd love to see your take on that! <3

Oh, scary!! It took me forever to write that other Bagoas one; the phrasing doesn't come as quickly, but I appreciate the opportunity. It will probably be another day or so at this point since the Wraeththu stories have taken on lives of their own, but I'll write it, never fear! ♥

I’m horrible making decisions. There’s just too much to choose from – it’s like you’ve offered me a store filled with my very favorite things and I can only select one item. Wraeththu it must be and Seel: catty Seel, confused Seel, demanding Seel – it doesn’t matter, whatever Seel first comes to mind. Seel/Cal and what was said (or wasn’t) the first night in Saltrock while un-incepted Pel slept. Or (this one has always plagued me) Seel and Cal’s first unsupervised meeting after Ghosts of Blood and Innocence. Or – any plot-less delicious scene with Seel and any other character. I’m giddy.

There wasn't a scene. That's why someone must make one. All that angst and trouble and all we see is Seel clutching Swift's arm and trying to play nice to Cal, absolutely no culmination/resolution. I really don't have any sort of Cal fixation - so please, please more Seel/Ashmael! Please!
