~ a massage at the East/West college. $25. High-caliber students. Today's student had looked at my history and I may, when I once again have health care (next month), find a primary care physician and ask her/him to check out my spine. I've always had a sticky-outy spine, but there's one knob at the bottom of my ribs that may be somehow out of whack. It could possibly explain the odd pain in my sitbones that I've had since last fall. Hmmmm.
~ the fact that my birthday card to [livejournal.com profile] matildabishop got to her not only on time, but on the day. My guessing of the post from Oregon to Birmingham, U.K. was actually right!
~ continuing to love my driving time because I'm listening to Lord John and the Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon. [livejournal.com profile] elfscribe5 told me of it because (squee!!!) she's writing fanfic for it. I must admit I'm not a huge fan of Outlander, but this book I adore. The protagonist's inner monologues are funny, and the author's turns of phrase and witticisms are often literally laugh out loud. I really enjoy experiencing books as books on tape. I know I've waxed poetic about how the version on Recorded Books narrated by Aviva Skell is the way I've experienced that novel, twice now.
~ watching the pilot for Caprica, the prequel to BSG, featuring Eric Stoltz. I'd enjoy it anyway, as it's a quasi-BSG fix, but… Eric Stoltz. Eric Stoltz. Yes, I'm happy. :)

Writing's going well; will probably indulge in a lot of that tomorrow morning before going to work. And be on the heating pad tonight— my therapist, per request, did some very deep tissue work. Happy Wednesday to you all!

HEY! I'm not huge fan of Outlander either, but I've listened to all the Lord John books and I love them! Cool!

That's right- you're a book on tape/CD fan as well. Yes, I'm just loving this! I keep laughing and chortling; it's so dry and clever.

I remember you mentioning that your computer set-up (partic chair) wasn't optimal - maybe this might have something to do with back pain, too? I know that if I slouch through a day's work, I pay for it later that night when I'm lying down!

Also: Eric Stoltz! :D Most of the recent stuff I've seen him in (where he only ever has cameo parts), he's been a pedophile, druggie or similar...! Looking forward to his BSG-ness.

Yes, and the chair I have now also isn't optimal. The massage therapist suggested getting an exercise ball- far less expensive than an ergonomic chair. No kidding! And I could do some ab work on it! Think I'll be doing that this weekend.

He's quite compelling in Caprica; I finished it last night. You won't be disappointed. :D

So glad you're enjoying the book on tape. Yay! Massages are wonderful. I don't get them often enough and I should because I have a gift certificate for three of them if I'd just use it. I hope the heating pad helps.

HUGS!!!

I really adore her writing style for this; I'm analyzing it to death to figure out what it is.

You have a gift certificate for three massages and you haven't used them?? This is beyond my comprehension. ;)

Well, the massage place is half-way across town which is a half-hour drive and I just don't get around it. But I should 'cause it feels so good.

Ah, another BSG enthusiast. I have noticed a "Caprica" DVD on the store shelves and am wondering -- is that just the pilot? Is there more coming?

Eric Stoltz -- MASK, right? I recently saw him in a little-known and underrated indie feature called THE LATHER EFFECT, kind of a BIG CHILL for the 00's (starts with an 80's nostalgia party). If you're way into Stoltz, check it out.

Yes, that's the pilot that's out on DVD (or via other means, wink wink). I do believe that they're committing to at least one season, maybe two... not entirely sure. I've not heard of The Lather Effect, so thanks for mentioning it! I'll add it to my to-see list. :D

Downloaded CAPRICA but haven't watched it yet.

Koshie and I just finished BSG last week. An excellent final episode!

Looking forward to seeing Eric on a regular basis in 2010...

Wasn't it great? I've watched it a couple of times since then, too. Caprica has a very different feel to it; don't even know that I'd be that engrossed except for seeing Eric, lol.
