As promised, I now have pictures of the completed knitted baby sweater which is ending up being for my younger brother and his wife. The child (unknown gender) is due in May. I have no idea whether or not s/he will be able to wear it. It's meant to be for a 6 month old, but having never had one, nor been around very wee infants, I'm pretty clueless.

Yes, it's Thev wearing her weekend wear. ;)

A close up of the inside of the sweater— because how often do you look at the inside of a hand-knitted sweater, eh?

Yoga today was good, then I went to Target and used up a gift card to get a workout top and other stuff. Writing and editing to do today, and try to catch a couple of people on the phone. Right this second I'm enjoying an IM with Callum, always fun, especially now that I've spent time with him in real life! Fandom really has graced me with wonderful souls like you all. Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

That's absolutely gorgeous! It looks much bigger than six months to me (I would guess 12-18 months), and I do have somewhat of an eye. Even if its prime wearing time (in terms of size) hits mid- summer, it looks big enough to me that the baby will get good use of it in the spring and fall. I think you have a win there!

Beautiful inside work--the sign of an excellent craftsperson.

Thank you! And now I can wipe my brow and hope that this child will actually be able to wear it before growing out of it. They're in NYC, so they'll have a decent winter. As for the inside, when I used to sew more, I remember someone telling me that the inside of your garment should be as finished as the outside. But I never bought into that, lol.

But I never bought into that, lol.

Me either. But a completely tangled web of yarn is something else altogether. Yours impressed me.

That is a beautiful sweater!

I hope the neck is stretchy. Aside from that, yes, I think he should get to wear it! (I'm now saying the Yiddish thing I say to ward off the Evil Eye.)

It turned out well, and is indeed beautiful. And... never again. I'll take a bazillion cables, thanks all the same. Colorwork is not fun for me.

The neck is definitely stretchy. Thanks for the anti-Evil Eye assistance as well! ;)

It turned out very well, and I'm so pleased. I'll be even more pleased when I send it away, lol. Time to work on my other unfinished sweaters, both for ME ME ME.

 Thank you for the kind words. I'm just me. ;)

Thanks hun! I thought you knew I was a pretty intense knitter; before I discovered fandom, and writing, I was a very hardcore knitter. The design is indeed gorgeous; all the Dale of Norway patterns are. I have a book of summer sweaters of theirs that aren't that style, but what I made is very typical Norwegian/Scandinavian style.

Day's going well, but I'm already behind in stuff, yet again. *sigh* Glad you had a good day!!

Heee! I thought it'd be fun to show the sweater's 'innards,' as it were. ;) It's quite pretty, and I have no idea what the size of this baby will be. It can be a family heirloom, fine by me, but I do hope the child can wear it. It's machine washable, too, on gentle. Just not to be put in the dryer, lol.

Wow. Beautiful sweater! I had always wondered if I was weaving the ends in correctly and now I can look at the insides of yours and think, YES! I AM! HOORAY! :P

You're great!! Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on seeing the inside, lol. But you have a point- most people don't say "here's how you weave in ends." Unless you take a finishing class, which I've not done, but Angel Hair Yarn offered one and it was always full when they had it. Are you working on anything right now? You finished your knitted Dalek, right?

The last thing I knitted that I have a picture of is this ridiculous winter hat: http://www.flickr.com/photos/llembas/2814851591/in/set-72157602321822568/ I knitted it for Licia. I used some of the yarn you sent me on it.

Oh my stars!!! It's beautiful!!! And you always want sweaters on babies to be just a little bit big. If it's too small, it's hell getting it on and off.

*kisses your sweet cheeks* Nice to see you smiling!

Thank you so much! I need to wait and take it to work on Monday to show it off to people who've been watching me work on it for the past few months, then off it'll go. :)

It feels good to smile! :D

Many thanks, m'dear! I tend to live in my sweats and warm tops with my silk long johns on underneath. I suppose it really will warm up again. ;)

V. cool project. J. and fam will love it, I'm sure (still can't believe he's going to be a dad in a month or so!). Great to see your smiling face, too, be-fleecy-topped and all. I think fleecy-wear is wrongly vilified. I love them. :D

I know-- it's a pretty crazy thought for me as well. Not sure when I'll see him next, to be honest, now that we're across the country from each other and they're rather focused on various projects, school, jobs, new baby...

I live in my fleece and sweatpants (with silk long johns underneath) due to the temp of the house. But it will get warmer, eventually!!

Thank you so much!! The child needn't worry about being cold, that's for sure!

Glad you like the hair- I'm quite pleased with it.
