I suspect you're not even all that into Halbarad anymore, but when I think of writing for you, he's the one who comes to mind. Inspired by The Passing of the Grey Company:

The moon was tricksy behind the clouds, but Halbarad knew they were gaining on their kinsman. Rohan was the land on which their horses galloped, confirmed by the Rohirrim who answered his call.
Aragorn was there; Halbarad recognised him, though he wore an Elvish cloak. Ever the master of disguise, this beloved stranger from the Angle, but kin nonetheless.
"All is well," Aragorn said and Halbarad eased into his saddle.
This was his liege, his King. The Angle and Halbarad's past melted away; Aragorn was his focus, the strong bulwark. There would be no return; silently Halbarad mourned his son.

The pursuers brought their steeds to a sudden stand. A silence followed; and then in the moonlight, a horseman could be seen dismounting and walking slowly forward. His hand showed white as he held it up, palm outward, in token of peace; but the kind's men gripped their weapons. At ten paces the man stopped. He was tall, a dark standing shadow. Then his clear voice rang out.
'Rohan? Rohan did you say? That is a glad word. We seek that land in haste from long afar.'
