Fun with celandine

Yesterday was such a fabulous day. There's something so wonderful about being with a friend who understands fandom and the balance between being with each other and also keeping up with our online communities. We spent much of the morning talking, drinking coffee and looking at LJ and I did some writing on a HP story I'm hoping to finish in the next couple of days. The early morning and through the morning there were intense thunderstorms, much to her dog, Juno's, great displeasure. She's not a huge fan of loud and close-by thunder, and was quite needy, shaking and looking for lots of scratching and affection and giving us scolding looks when we couldn't make the thunderstorm stop.

After our leisurely morning and showers, she came up with the great idea of going to see Prince Caspian and, if the weather held, going to the zoo. So we did both! It was celandineb's third time to see it, my first. I quite enjoyed it, though I was about halfway through when I realized I'd been thinking more about Voyage of the Dawn Treader thanks to seeing Reepicheep. Caspian was delightful eye candy and I'm glad I saw it with her. From there we went to the zoo after applying sunscreen as by this time it was bright and sunny and hot. Many of the animals were gone from their pens or simply hiding so we didn't see as many as some visits she'd had, but it was fun to walk around for a couple of hours, talking fic, primarily her Narnia stories (some delicious Edmund/Caspian slash, including How to Love Each Other being a recent example) and our HP fics.

Last night there was an absolutely scrumptious dinner of chicken saltimbocca; I won't even try describing it but it was so very tasty. As most of you know who know of Cel, she's an amazing cook and gets lots of fresh vegetables from their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) group including carrots. I had no idea that carrots came in such a wide variety of colors, even purple! But there was a yummy, herb-infused cooked carrot salad with festive and naturally-colored carrots of orange, yellow and purple. She and I and her SO talked and talked and talked, then we had some computer time on the couch until time for bed.

Today I'll be heading over to my college friend kymyrra's house until Friday morning when I head off for a full day's drive to Albuquerque. But before then, Cel and I will hang out and chat and go to AAA to get a map or two of Portland so I can have a sense of the neighborhoods and where they are since I've been hearing from people on their craigslist about temporary housing.

I'm joyful to see you're having such a great time, and your dinner sounded sooo yummy! :-)
Also I understand the poor dog with his fear of thunderstorms. I'd have hidden with him under a table if I'd been there *lol*.

I'm so glad it got there in time... :-) The parcel, I mean.
I wrote onto it, it were a birthday present, just for the custom controll or what ever it might go through in America. So don't wonder. ;-)
Take your time and don't hurry with the mail. I'm just fine to know you're happy so far... Not meaning I'd not be very happy about a mail, too, of course! Ahh, you know what I mean! XD
Yes, I'm OK. Just a little exhausted from work today, but otherwise perfectly fine. Thanks!

I'm having a very fun time. All too soon I'll have a couple of back to back days on the road, so I'm really enjoying having the down time and just conversing about fandom oriented things and some real life stuff, too. :)

LOL! I understand about the fanon part. Now I want to write Narnia slash, but I need to stay focused on the fic I'm working on and then get to some more Wraeththu. Cel's stories are consistently of very high caliber, and the one I linked is no exception. It's a wee vignette.

BTW… in regards to a Wraeththu collaboration, what kinds of things/characters/situations do you have in mind? I'll be driving a lot on Friday and Saturday and would love to have something fic-wise to think about. ;)

I would like a pairing (character) which normally doesn't get much attention in fictions. So not the typically Cal/Pell/Soulmate story thing (although I love such plots :D). Something unique somehow. Character like Ithiel for example (although I hate drawing short hair :P).

Ithiel! He'd be an interesting character to write about, but I'd want it to be something that *you* want to draw. Maybe Ithiel/Cobweb, since canonically we know that happens? Do think about characters you'd like to make art for and/or if you'd like something plottier or more relationship oriented and/or aruna-oriented? Hmmmmm. I'm going to enjoy it, no matter what!

Okay, than I want a Ithiel related story. I somehow have a picture in mind with Ithiel in front and a kissing couple in the back, which would be Cobweb and Terzian of course. So maybe the story should be about Ithiels relationship to both? Being a good friend for Terz and a lover to Cob?

Well, there was a lot of rough spots prior to the trip, but now that it's underway, I'm incredibly grateful that things are progressing as they are.

You're more than welcome for the fic comments; it's truly gorgeous. In fact, I'll probably treat myself to a reread before I go to bed tonight. Swift's outright delight at the size of Seel's ouana-lim is priceless. ;)
