::weeps:: my dreamlife. Just-- sigh.

For real. In my defense, I have a coworker and friend, two seats down, whose technical due date is today, but she's been having faint contractions and whatnot since last week, so every day is a 'will Lauren be having a baby today?' and the subsequent disappointment/frustration for her when it's not the case. But I dreamed I was pregnant, full-term, all of that, and gave birth (standing up) to what turned out to be a cat. Okay— it had a very long umbilical cord; there was discomfort more than pain, but, well, there was this thing out of me with a long and dark umbilical cord, and I held it close to my shoulder and petted it, and slowly realized it was a cat. The other people around didn't seem distressed; I think it must have taken me a little while to think perhaps something was up. The cat was very pretty and had all of her parts and everything. I cleaned myself up, which took a while, and when I did I realized the cat was talking. Within a few minutes she'd changed into a human child, but she was around 7 years old or so.
Just why? I'd rather return to the occasional sex worker dream, or even the airplane crashes. I can only imagine what Freud would say about this one.
I have huge thanks to
risiepookie and the duo of
wolfiekins and
koshweasley for their packages which have brightened up my week. Risie, your cards are always works of art, and the kind words you included made me feel like a prized jewel. I'd written you a letter on Monday or Tuesday, so hopefully you'll get that soon. Wolfie and Kosh, thank you very much for the sage and other goodies. Your thank you note went out the next day. I'll get caught up with you guys this weekend.
In fic news, again in the shower, I found inspiration! I can tie together my TQP auction story for
callumjames with the one for my
weasley_fest recipient by changing pairings for the second one. They'd both be AU, and the pairings don't overlap, but they could complement each other, but without needing to read the other. I'm newly excited! :)
Happy Thursday, all!

Date: 2008-03-28 12:02 am (UTC)The fanfic inspiration is great! I'll definitely need to get to it this weekend, though perhaps I should stick to just the Wraeththu and the TQP story, then work on the other one once I have a firm handle on the TQP fic since its deadline is first.
