thrihyrne: Portland, OR (The Stranglers-Aural Sculpture)

In celebration of this story, and that the Epilogue is with my betas and will be posted soon, I came up with a soundtrack of sorts for this second-longest standalone story of mine. These songs are both directly relevant to, and also in the spirit of, the story, in chronological order of the fic. Since it's from Seamus' POV, the songs are as well, with one apiece for Dean and Fred.

The link to the file is here; since I use a Mac, all but two tracks are .m4a and two (the Ultravox and David Bowie) are mp3s as Master Music Wizard, [livejournal.com profile] wolfiekins found them for me. :)

Strange-Eyed Constellation, the music behind this mad story of polyamory
1. Reap the Wild Wind ~ Ultravox
2. Snow - Brokeback Mountain soundtrack (Gustavo Santaolalla)
3. If You Want My Love - Cheap Trick
4. Blister in the Sun - Violent Femmes
5. Do You Want To Hold Me? - Bow Wow Wow
Dean's song: 6. Steer By the Stars - Beth Patterson
7. In the Red - Tina Dico
8. Under the Milky Way - The Church
9. Love Songs - Fleming & John
10. I Wanna Be Adored - The Stone Roses
Fred's song: 11. Fretless - R.E.M.
12. This I Where I Came In - Bee Gees (special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] eldritchhobbit for this one; she put it on a Remus/Sirius mix for me several years ago and I've adored it ever since.)
13. Until the Morning - Thievery Corporation
14. Absolute Beginners - David Bowie
15. Road Trippin' - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Enjoy!! :D

They're way fun to put together, too! I was mowing on Saturday, and for some reason I simply cannot fathom, when I mow, I get creative. I've done lots of fic plotting out while mowing. This weekend, though, a soundtrack came to mind, so there y'go!

Downloading!

A lot of these songs are new to me, so I'm looking forward to hearing them. And then there are several that have always been favourites of mine.

Fanmixes/soundtracks are made of win, I tell you.

Excellent— have fun!! I'm glad that some of the music is new, though I'm totally unsurprised that you're familiar with a lot of it.

Fanmixes are indeed made of win. Were I more industrious, I'd have made gorgeous liner art for it too, as you did, but that didn't happen. ;)

Wah! I'll have to download it when I get home: I can convert the files to .mp3 format there. Stupid Windows Media Player won't let me play them.

:grumbles:

That's okay- we all have stuff going on. I keep up wtih you and am sometimes awful at commenting, but I read everything you post. :)

Thank you for exposing me to some of this! The Fleming & John is off of one of your "Drive" mixes you made copies of for me, also a little while back. ;) I adore your musical influence!!!

You know me, I'm always up for new music! Thanks for this - I'll try reading and listening to the appropriate song at the same time.

Excellent! I hope you enjoy. They don't correlate that closely to the story text, but they do sortof ebb and flow along. :)

No problem! I suspect that you'll know a lot of it already, but hopefully a few are new tunes. I need to email you soon, too...

Dude, me too, but I'm a flake. I think I killed all my brain cells in the last couple months. I've been at my parents the last few days, but now I'm back in my apt (for a few weeks, before the lease runs), so I think I'll be able to get back on keel in the next week or so. I can do whatever I want - you understand that this is totally unprecedented. I have no idea what to do. I'm used to regulating each and every minute of my time. Oh, to be a fly on my wall. *g* I want to write, but haven't ideas yet. Though this morning I felt jewel tones starting to hum under my skin, which was unexpected because it would be a pairing I wasn't thinking about. And the jewel tones are unexpected - I'd have thought bright, gay colors at this moment in time. I get twitchy with words building up if I don't write, so it's really frustrating when the ideas aren't there. They tend to come, though, when I need them to. Anyway, as long as I can feel a tone, I can pretty much write whenever. It's my version of plot. But I don't know enough canon to really write SGA yet, esp this pairing. Have only watched the first of three seasons. Also, still have not read DH. *shrug* Kind of not interested at the moment. But I made sure I spoiled myself the minute I could after the test because I missed my flist. Maybe I said that already to you. I have a curious blank of the last week - people keep telling me they already told me something, and I have no recollection of any of it.

A nicer pimp there never was, lol. Thanks for the help with the tuneage, and I hope that any of the tunes that are new to you are ones that you like!
