I'm about to spend about $20 more on a knitting project than I need to. Why? Well, a couple of reasons. The yarn the sweater calls for I would need to order online because my local yarn store doesn't carry it. I went over there a week or two ago and found a different yarn I could use, and I loved the color, Rowan Handknit DK #305. (a kind of thistle-y color). So I'm looking online and guess what the real color name is for it?

I am such a geek. :D

Oh, and now I MUST share this from [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge. I would just link over to it but it doesn't have a cut id# and I don't know how to link to particular entries. I believe he is a grad student since he seems to be doing a lot of grading of really awful papers, but these examples he listed made me about spit up my lunch, laughing at the atrocity and sheer "WHAT??" that he must read. The stamps he wants to have made are brilliant, too.

From copperbadge's LJ:

I'm going to have a set of rubber stamps made up. They will read:

1. Interesting but irrelevant.
2. Use specific examples. (Stop spouting bullshit.)
3. Where is your thesis?
4. It is okay to use paragraph breaks. No, really.
5. Although you are addressing three questions in the prompt, this is an essay. Do not number your answers.
6. Are you, in fact, smoking the crack?

All of which means I have Gems to share!

The family struggled against the disgrace brought on my having a love child.
He kisses her friend as she peaks.
Every time he appears onstage he arouses his son in the way only a father can.
Certain things can be done alone but all warm-blooded people need a companion in the end. (this one amuses me mainly because, in context, it's clear he's delicately referring to wanking.)
In fact, the play was incredibly slow up until the arrival of the men.
His only purpose is to dance around all retarded.
This was a very well sought out play.
He has also breaded the protagonist, making this play even more unique. (I honestly have no idea what this person means here. None at all. Normally I have a clue; nope, not in this case.)
Despite everything, they took a likening to the old man.
This was a very intuitive play that is filled with many different dialogue that is important to listen to. It was pact filled with great life lessons.
He didn't know if her ravish promises would ever be fulfilled.

I believe copperbadge is a grad student because he posts so much to his LJ...lol! (not that there's anything wrong with that...)
