Giddy Irony

ACK!! I'd written a whole entry and then it vanished. Grrrr...
Frist, a quick and brief sentence to say (again) how wonderful it was to meet
llembas. We talked all evening long and had a fabulous time. Hope you enjoyed the snow! I'll gush more soon.
On, now to the shameless self-promotion:
I received an email from Mr. Thev (I'm in Ruston, Louisiana visiting my 86 & 91 year old grandparents) saying how surprised he had been when he turned to the front page of the NYTimes Movies Section and saw a picture of me in full color there.
o_O
He wasn't kidding. I went to TORn's Oscar Party last year, and apparently there was a Times photographer, because there is my friend Sabrina, myself, and others in line waiting to get in!
me in Finduilas costume on the red carpet from last year
The great irony in all this is that despite being in a college town, I cannot buy a copy of the NYTimes anywhere. I can look at it in their public library, but I've seen it online. And given the blue laws here, I can't even buy a celebratory beer, much less anything else. *dramatic buckle-of-the-bible-belt-visiting-Southern-Baptist-grandparents sigh* Even if I were with my inlaws, I still couldn't buy a copy, but I could be sipping a martini right now.
Guess I'll be buying a bottle of celebratory cheap champagne when I get in town tomorrow.
Better not chance it- I'm signing off now before I type this three times. :P
