In honor of your birthday and that your Faramir/Éowyn stories inspired me beyond measure, here's a drabble present for you.
* * * * * * *
Rubbing his temple, Faramir took an infrequently-used corridor away from one of the rooms of state. Overseeing property disputes were not his favourite way to spend a morning, especially an auspicious one like today. Minutes later, he ensconsed himself in his private library with relief. His gaze alighted on an unexpected item next to the book ziggurat he’d left the day prior. Wrapped with a thin leather thong was a silver cape brooch, set with a sea-coloured cabochon.
He smiled, fingering the simple wrapping, the Rohirric tradition betraying the giver. From his heart, he thanked Éowyn for his birthday gift.
