I DID IT. FIGURED IT OUT. YEE HAW.

... so far. ARGH!! I've finally sortof figured out some photoshop/icon-y stuff, and that combined with the South Park generator I stumbled across thanks to kerryblaze, well, I made an icon, witnessed below:



Now, you'll note it has NO BORDER. I went to icon_tutorial and found how to make one, and I did exactly what she said, I swear. But there's still no border. But hey- I've learned a lot over the past 3 hours. Unfortunately, I have written absolutely zero fic.

Awww... thanks. I'm going to make a couple more. I'm absolutely hooked. My photoshop endeavor for today is *really* to make the blasted border, and also to figure out how to copy around something and it not have a rectangle around it. I thought I'd done so, but no.

Alas and alack, no. I spent well over an hour on AIM with a friend instead. :P Maybe tonight. I have a deadline for fic, and that always helps.

Golly, you give yourself fic deadlines? I rarely write to deadline; I suppose my Christmas drabbles were an instance, and I'm currently participating in a PotC polyficathon, but that's about it. I'm happier when the writing flows, if I'm forcing myself to write sometimes it works okay but it isn't as fun, you know?

No, not very often- if I'm participating in a ficathon, I do take those seriously; I have a dear LJ friend who will be celebrating a birthday Sunday and I'm determined to have a story finished for her for her birthday. So I have a deadline. ;)

wish it was easier for us to talk on the phone, it'd be a lot easier to help with icon and web stuff via voice. the timing is just so hard with 8 hours difference.

It is easier to do the help over the phone, but if you wanted to give me a quick heads up on how to do that, I'd be eternally grateful. llembas told me on AIM last night, and I did what she said but the border is massive, so I'm sure it's me doing it wrong. :P
