A very interesting paper with some actual numbers (us English folks tend to draw conclusions without counting.

My best friend and the professor of the class is the one who encouraged me to do that with my other fandom paper, since on this side 'o the pond apparently they do like numbers. So I did the same with this one.

I especially liked your move here, b/c we've spent so much time looking at the fan-text interaction...it's high time to look at the fan-fan interaction!

Thank you! I knew that Altariel had done some fan/fan papers on Blake's 7, and there seem to be continual calls for papers on HP, but I hadn't run across any that were more specifically studying particular groups within Tolkien fandom. So off I went, looking at the community in which I was the most immersed.

So glad to have this out in the public domain! Fandom fascinates me; I have had in mind another paper studying an aspect of HP fandom, but haven't figured out where to begin.
