*I cant fathom Ashmaels thinking* Well...I thought long about that too, want to know my two cents in this? 1 We all know how manipulate Thiede is, It gives an slight chance that he manipulated Ash in this because he still did need Vaysh and him in different ways/ apart. 2 A psychical breakdown. And thats my personal favorite version. I think he simply refused to believe him alive again. Vaysh was different when he met Ash again...in more ways then one! And the worst of all, he was barren and out burned from Thiedes powerful Aruna/ powers in general. I think his psyche (Ash) could simply not cope with all of that. So, he put up a mask, just like Vaysh too, and tried to prevent himself from even more harm of the soul. What makes me always sad in this is, that Ash never tried to fight his inner fears and tried to be with him again. But Vaysh isn´t better, he too tries all that he can to not let Ash back into his heart , that he believes is dead. Its a psychical problem I believe.
