It definitely had some other cringe-worthy comments by some of the characters, but I also figured it had to do with their own backgrounds and in that sense, it was very true to life. And yes, to your second part there. Although they were having a solstice thing in the backyard in Brisbane and people were in short sleeves and I thought, "What??" I know that Brissy is tropical, but I also remember walking to school in winter in a wool jumper and wool jacket for school and seeing my breath on the air. It wasn't *that* warm in the middle of winter!

I'm again noticing my lack of an Aussie icon. Blast.
