really liked the way you engaged the dwarf/elf traits with such nuance and control. I was a bit confused about the "he/she" thing with Narvi, thinking that perhaps it was just dwarf smithing culture that all artisans were referred to as "he". All clear now and a highly affecting ending.

my favourite sentence (and its mirror as well). favourite scene is when Gimli gives Legolas the silver cuff - a scene with such depth and resonance of the themes within the story. off to make a coffee and return to mundanities now...sigh...
