We labor in solitude, not knowing if we labor in vain - not until we get some kind of response from readers. And positive responses are much more pleasant.
Very true. One never knows whether one is writing "into the void," as it were.
BTW if I haven't already said so, I think you've done a fine job with this series of vignettes.
Thank you so much! It does indeed have notes for it in the summary, just so the reader doesn't approach it unawares (or without understanding the various levels of complexity to it that were intended): The Hours: A set of vignettes which all take place during one particularly challenging day during the War of the Ring, March 14, 3019. The vignettes are based around the monastic services of the hours, seven in all, from 3:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m; additionally, each vignette focuses on one of the senses- taste, touch, etc. Some are well-known characters in well-known scenarios, others are more obscure.
if you've already done this, just ignore me - except for the part where I applaud.
You are so thoughtful. My gratitude to you, fellow writer!!
