Wild waters and hail, oh my!

Today's adventures on the highway included such exceedingly intense rain that I couldn't go over about 55 miles an hour and could barely see the lines on the road. It was like being in dense fog, but much, much louder and scarier and there was some near-hydroplaning. Then… there was hail!! I heard these horrible sounds and realized that sure enough, hail was bouncing off of my car and on the road. Two solid hours of the rain, but thankfully the hail only lasted a few minutes. Once I got through it I stopped at a McDonald's and actually took a couple of pictures of the sky behind me; black, roiling clouds and yellow and dark grey. And lots of wind.

Still, I did survive it and am now safely with celandineb and her SO and dog Juno in their character-filled 75 year old house and am ready to hang out and relax and talk fic and fun things like that. I'll be here in Oklahoma for four nights but may not post every day.
