Day Two: Far more calm

Today was blissfully uneventful compared to yesterday! Smooth sailing on the highway, several stops, no blown out tires. I was even able to relax after a couple of hours, being convinced that my car wasn't going to explode, the transmission fall out, or anything else to add far too much excitement to my trip.

Now I'm safely with hapendfro!!! :D We're talking fic and characterizations and she's a lovely person. This is one of the most tremendous gifts fandom has given me, which is getting to meet the people I've gotten to know online and actually hug in real time, talk about things face to face, and find inspiration and affection in each other.

We have our computers catty-corner to each other; I have my Mac mini, monitor, keyboard and mouse. It's not the most elegant way to travel, but I can now get my stuff up and running or dismantled and back in their two boxes in under five minutes. ;)

I'll be here until Saturday morning; I hope you all are doing well. Thank you for your kind words and reassurances after yesterday's excitement! I'll be getting two other new tires tomorrow; it seems prudent.
