second, also let me say that i KNOW animals. i have worked with them professionaly, i'm wondering if you have as well. your descriptions of the instincts of the wolf, of dogs in general, and the whole of the packing order are amazing. the way you weave those instincts into harry and ron's humanity (because humans retain more of their animalistic qualities than they would like to ever admit) is breathtaking. i think you're spot on in caling harry the alpha and ron the beta; it's always been that way in the books, really; and having them go to charlie (someone who works with animals, and, let's face it, is a little more stable than hagrid) was brilliant. he would understand that their wolf instincts demand they romp and run and play.
