As if there weren't enough fabulousness in my life

A few things, not to do with Philip Glass. One, on the mundane but practical side, today is sunny and breezy, so I'm doing a bunch of hand-washing that can then dry outside. Two: yesterday I spent a few fun hours with [livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl that was primarily to do with her new chairs, but ended up being a fabulous shopping spree at the most incredible thrift store I've yet gone to in Portland, Better Bargains Thrift Store. Now I need more clothes like a hole in my head, but I did cull a lot before moving cross-country and there were just great finds! Including random pieces of artwork/handcrafts and me buying a lot of green clothes. [livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl said that green represents the heart chakra, so I'm intrigued by what that means at this point in my life. Three, I found out that my other stepsister, the older one (but still younger than I am by four years) is three months pregnant. I'll phone her soon.

Last, but definitely not least: I went by the store on my way home because one of the Opera former young artists (who sat behind me at the Glass event last night) mentioned nachos, and I decided I really wanted to make some. Oh, and have I mentioned that my housemate is gone for two and a half days??!! :D :D :D It's just me and the cats!!! So I bought an avocado and was going along the aisles when I saw… Tim Tams. I couldn't believe it. Apparently they've decided to try them on a U.S. market or something. You'd better believe I bought them and will have them with my lunch, whatever that ends up being.

Tim Tams!!!!!!!! Oh god, I want some now. Love, love, love Tim Tams!

I KNOW!!! If I start seeing Jaffas or Violet Crumbles I'll be in seventh heaven. :D

*twirls you* I'm so glad you're having a good time. I've been following your 'Adventures with Philip Glass' with interest and awe.

YAY for Tim Tams. Apparently, they showed up in northern Georgia at a Publix. I need to let my grocer know I want them, too.

Oh, glad to know you're enjoying my Philip Glass squeeing extravaganza, lol. My geekery knows no bounds, apparently.

I literally stopped and stared when I saw them, the Tim Tams. I thought, This can't possibly be here at the end of the aisle in the Gateway Fred Meyer. But then I approached and on the package it said, "Australia's favorite cookie" or somesuch and I grabbed it. :)

Congratulations to your stepsister on yet another wee bairn! ♥

The hell is a Tim Tam?

A Tim Tam is this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Tam)- an Australian chocolate cookie. They're made there by Arnott's, but the ones I bought last night are by Pepperidge Farm. Don't quite know what's going on, but I'm not going to question it. They're yummy. I'm much more of a savory than sweet oriented person, but Tim Tams are Australian and, therefore, I bought them. :)

Yes, I need to call Ashley now! I'm so excited for her. Though this also reminds me that I need to undo 4 inches of knitting on the other baby hat. I've put that off, surprise, surprise. :(

LOL, I don't know WHAT you have against poor Phillip Glass (Just kidding).

Retail therapy = goodness.

*HUGS*

It was great! The retail therapy, that is. I love consignment, thrift— in my college and first few post-college years, I was also very into vintage. I had some really lovely 50s-era dresses, but sadly they all fell apart.

((((hugs)))) I'll try to call this weekend or next, but both weekends are going to be far busier than usual.

Hey, you!!! ♥ ♥ Lovely to see you flit by! Yes, delightful to stumble across Tim Tams where I least expected to see them, ie: the U.S.

It makes me so happy to see all the great things happening for you on all fronts! Your clothes sound wonderful! (you know how I love green). I love thrift shopping! I just wish we had a place like you described. The ones here are boring, but once in a while you can find a treasure.

And there can never be enough fabulousness in your life, dear - you deserve it all!! <3 <3

It's a pretty fabulous week! I'm sorry I've not been able to reply to your wonderful email; it's definitely on my list for this weekend and I'll enjoy spending the time writing. :)

Thank you for your kind words!
