Blissing out in my essential three-day weekend

I did go in Saturday morning to work at the Opera, but since the weather was so nice, I reached almost nobody in the 2 1/2 hours I was there. Oh well. Today alone, however, I've re-colored my hair, been drinking loads of water (as opposed to Diet Coke, for once), am giddy with anticipation of seeing [livejournal.com profile] cim_halfling in a few hours, I do believe (!!!), and will very shortly have a Slave Breakers fic that I'd love to find a quick beta for. That seems to be one realm in which I can actually write in a more romantic mode, and it seems believable. Mac just created such endearing characters…

Wow. Hair's done, groceries were bought, a lovely rendition of Bairstow's "I Sat Down" was sung yesterday morning, fic's been written, and thanks to the Lord John books on tape, I'm about 2/3 the way done with the sleeves on my sweater. I like! Oh, need to take pictures of that project.

This is an open work sweater; the body is on the left (that was what I needed help with as keeping the pattern going when binding off in the middle got me all screwed up) and the two sleeves I'm working on at the same time are on the right.

That's my mom, grandmother and me during the party at the assisted living place where my grandmother lives.

Lastly, a funny from work on Friday. One of the guys in the box office who I'm pretty sure is family (an irreverent, big bearish type guy) saw my outfit and said, "You wear the best clothes! You have such color coordination!" I had on some floral pants and an interesting top, that particular combination one I'd not put together until Friday. Before I left their office, he said, "I have a new title for you! You're Our Lady of Color Combination." I laughed at that and replied, "I need a tiara with a title like that." So I'm now OLCC. ;)

SPAG: very good. Plot: there are better. Canon: you're out of luck.

If these work for you, you know where to find me.

*hugs*

Hmmm... well, you read my first Slave Breaker fic. I think I'd trust you. I'll send it on over now and you can let me know if you think it'd be just a wee bit stronger with one more short scene with Bran and Holden in a car. It'll make sense when you read it. Thanks!!

Oh! Every woman should have a tiara. I'm a big proponent. Have a lovely one (with sceptre!) that I got in New Orleans. It's a sure-fire winner (or else I'm a little...ah...worse for the wear) whence I've donned it here at Chez C.... We all get a little hysterical and I go around dubbing people Sir or Lady thisnthat.

Do you realize that you look a little like Elfscribe? At least I think so, just based on this one pic of you and the two that I've seen of her.

Oh, you shame me. Love your knitted projects. I used to do counted cross-stitch, but haven't for years.

And re: your other comment. Oh yeah, I think you've defined a definite kink of mine. SpeechKink or TOAKink - TOA=Terms of Address - I wish I could think of a good name for it - but yes! All the Sirs, and Your most obedient servants...shivers. Have to figure out a word for it....

I guess I do look a little like her! I have a picture of the two of us together from last summer... we have similar builds, to be sure.

Love to knit! Used to do it as passionately as I write now, but I can't do both at the same time. :)

The titles- I'd not thought of it as a kink, but now that you say so...

Great project. And I love that song.

Thanks much! Did I know you were an Anglican music fan? If not, my apologies!!

LOL. I grew-up Episcopalian and sang in the choir and then I was a music minor (choral/vocal emphasis.) I haven't sung in year, but, yeah, I love the Anglican choral tradition. Britain, Rutter, etc. = love.

Heh. OLCC around here is the Oregon Liquor Control Commission: they sell the booze.

So, fun all around. Nice knitting, by the way!

LOL!! That is funny!

Thank you about the knitting! I'm afraid that soon I'll be running out of yarn and begging one of my German friends to find some for me on German ebay. :(

What fantastic pictures, OLCC (ha! love that!). The color you chose for your sweater is absolutely stunning. You'll glow in it!

Oops! Somehow I missed replying to you! I'm still working on the sweater, but I do think it'll be great when it's done, a very unique layering piece. Thanks for your compliment! And I have a reply letter to you on my docket for tomorrow morning. :D

I love your sweater and the coral color. It's beautiful! It looks so complicated to make! I'm so impressed! I also got a big kick out of your new name- OLCC!!

Also loved the pic of your three generations. I think, according to genetics, you can count on looking good for a long time!

**Much love and hugs**

Thank you so much!! It's quite the project, to be sure. Especially since I'm about to run out of yarn. Woe!! I'm going to have to ask two of my German buddies to see if they can find a couple of skeins for me.

And thank you for the kind comment about the multiple generations! I do have some good genetics. ;)

(((massive love back)))
