Just a fast drive-by post before going off to an appointment and then another day of calling for donations at the Opera...


As you all know, evannichols invited me to join him at the beach for the weekend. We had a fabulous time, and did get some writing done, but, well, we're both grooving a fair bit on the novelty of seeing each other in the more than friends category, so there was a lot of talking and some walks on the beach (in phenomenal winds that rivaled those I experienced in Scotland's Outer Hebrides as well as rain and mist and other fun weather) and other pastimes which weren't conducive to writing for hours on end. ;) Which is just fine. We won't see each other a whole lot during the workweek so we'll have that time to try and keep up with our various writing and creative pursuits. I put in the pictures that I took in my Portland Autumn 08 gallery, below:

There's also a movie! I discovered that I can upload movies as well, and Evan said he was able to play it using a Windows Media Player. I used QuickTime as I'm a Mac person. ;)


I think that's about it for now; I've been getting back in the habit of writing cards and letters and that feels good to reconnect with my correspondence self. I'm looking forward to having tomorrow morning to write on NaNo and my Wraeththu WIP as well as redo my roots. :P Well, I'm not really looking forward to that. I do have an appointment with a hairdresser who is an apprentice with Aveda and since she's an apprentice (to them, surely not to cutting and styling hair) the cost is $10. I saw a sign in the Fred Meyer closest to me and made an appointment at long last for a hair cut. Aveda products and a hair cut for $10? I'm all over it.

Oh! And I must pimp remus_ron_slash as they/we (I helped out a wee bit behind the scenes and I'm definitely a supporter and participant) begin posting Ron/Remus stories today. Ron/Remus seems to be one of those pairings that people really enjoy and always say, "I wish there was more of that!" Well, your wishes have come true, so if you do like that still-rarepair, go and read and if you enjoy, of course be sure to let the author know. I believe that stories and/or art will be posted on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule with longer fics on Fridays so that they can be read and savored over the weekend.

I hope you all are doing well; I'll hope to post more comments to you all now that my life is in a far more stable place. In fact, I'm venturing into Pretty Wonderful territory, and that's a welcome change. ♥

Thanks for the well wishes! The beach and weather were indeed intimidating. Thankfully there was a gas logs fireplace, and we did have it going. We even got some writing done! But not a whole lot. ;)

Hey, looks like a fabulous weekend. What a wind though. I couldn't open the video for some reason, but enjoyed all your other pics. So glad to know things are going well.

And yay for cheap haircuts!

My project is crawling along - didn't get much written this weekend for no good reason. Like you, I'll be working on it tomorrow.

Sorry the video didn't work, but I'm glad that you were able to see the photos. Things are going well, but it's also meant that I've not written back to you about your Numenor fic! Perhaps we can arrange another IM date?
