Two Public Service Announcements

~ I'm taking a sabbatical for a time from beta'ing. I'm working with a couple of newer authors, and I'm also engaged in two HP-oriented events that I'll be writing for with deadlines, plus I'm going full bore on my Wraeththu sequel. I won't say no necessarily right off the bat, but please ask first, even if you're somebody I've had an open door policy for. And if I say no, please don't get mad!! I'm feeling rather overwhelmed.

~ I have a lot of yarn. I'm a knitter, and my yarn stash has gotten a bit out of control. I don't have a digital camera and taking pictures of yarn seems silly. I'd like to give some of it away if there are some people on my flist who might be interested in some, let me know. Reply here or drop me a line via email and I can describe some of what I have, how many skeins (admittedly, much is a skein here and a skein there), fiber content, stuff like that. If you're looking for something in particular you can let me know that too.

This post brought to you by the word whimper.

*sympathises about the too much to do and not enough time to do it*

*empathises over the yarn*

Shall I show you my collection of balls of wool I've bought/been given because 'I could make something out of that'?

*uses this icon, because Emma's hair is the closest thing I've got to a mess of unravelled wool*

This compulsion to be all, do all, triumph charmingly over all… meh. I just need to back off a wee bit.

Guess I won't be sending you any wayward skeins! ;) Welcome to the flist, BTW! ♥

Thank you!

I finally got around to writing decent replies to your comments on my fic journal, BTW. I had a headache the last couple of days that completely mushed my brain, and wasn't coherent enough before this evening to write something intelligible. x_x

And I need to back off a bit too. Too much to do...

i run a foundling home for displaced skeins. does not matter type or amount. all are welcomed and will find a purpose in life. ;)

i owe you an email as well, so feel free to drop me a note.

Your icon ROCKS!

I'll go through my yarn tonight and find some particularly delightful and K-EK-worthy skeins and then write you a proper letter to go with them before posting. I'll email first, though. :) I'm so giddy to think of my yarns having a new home!!!

I know knitters, but am not one myself. I never had the patience to learn. However, Eldest Daughter is learning how to knit, so I may be interested. :)

I completely understand about the beta'ing. Write away, my dear!

Let me know about the yarn!!

I'll be writing, and I *am* beta'ing, it's just that due to the uniqueness of one situation, it's a very labor-intensive experience, and I do have a lot on my plate, writing-wise.

i am willing to take any yarn yu want to bequeath. I usually work with thicker weights, but have dabbled in fine. you are under no obligation to send me anything!

and *hugs* for the busy. If by some miracle I finish the next chapter of LWBNW i will let you know and i can find another beta.

This is so great! I wish I'd offered this up sooner!!! I'm going to see how many responses I get and look through my yarn and make love packages. I'll need to get your snail mail- just drop me an email at your leisure.

I've no doubt I'll beta again, so just ask if/when you do finish your next chapter. After the next couple of months are over, I'll probably be ready to take on some more responsibilities again.

Okay, so perhaps I need some glasses, either that or I need to learn to sit nearer the screen when reading. For Yarn I read Yam. I was trying really hard to work out what Yams have to do with knitting... wondering just HOW silly it would be to take photos of yams and wondering why anyone would have a stash of yams let alone allow it to get out of control. It wasn't till I got to skeins of yam that I began to realise I'd read it wrong.

::headdesk::

It's been a very long day at work ::meep::

You're so funny!! Fonts can be wicked, wicked things; I read a Wraeththu story and discovered I was reading the character's name incorrectly, due to the font. :P

(((snuggles)))

::drive-by hugs and love::

I'm thinking of you, dear one.

[identity profile] thrihyrne.livejournal.com 2008-03-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Drive-by hugs back! I'll be writing you; you've been muchly on my mind, my love. ♥

Just send me enough to play bondage games with my Ron doll. It'll be like we're doing it together.

Got your letter ((((major hugs))) more on that later.

[identity profile] thrihyrne.livejournal.com 2008-03-15 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
:chortle:

Glad you got the letter; no worries about commentary. I just hope they are legible since they're hand-written! ((((hugs back))))

p.s. I do love your doll pictures. They're priceless.
