Happy Birthday, dear [livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl!!

happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl!!!

Already this year is shaping up to be one of many changes, and I hope that you face them all with trust, excitement, and a peaceful heart. As for me, I'm going to take to heart your always-encouraged command to breathe. :) I know your birthday is nearly over where you are, but I'll be thinking of you today especially over here. I'm grateful to Tolkien and Peter Jackson for having been the forces which ultimately had me meet you, and I'm especially grateful that we've kept up and remained friends over these recent years.

((((Gimli-sized hugs))))

Yes, I'm sure you will miss having the extra hours of being celebrated on both sides of the equator!! But surely your NZ buddies will continue to laud you 'early'. ;)

I'm just so excited about your plans. Oh, and your wee drabble is up! Hope it suits; I've never written hobbit slashy anything before.

Meet 'n Greet

I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to say more than a rushed 'Good morning' today. It was a nice event I thought and I was happy to get to touch base with old chums again. I have known Brenda Harris, Nic Muni and Chris Larkin for years and it's always fun to have them in town. The 10 year-old is a trip, no? He and Rob Ainsley and I were standing together anr Rob said "This is Stephen Llewellyn/. He knew Benjamin Britten and the very first Miles. The look the boy gave me made me feel bloody old! :)

It was wonderful to see you!! Christopher Larkin conducted a couple of 'our' operas at Nashville Opera, but he wouldn't know me. I'd not met the others, though Lori Phillips sang Turandot in our Turandot several years ago.

Aw... about Mike. He's quite precocious! I saw him last night during my break. Last night of the fund raiser, thank goodness. Now on to season tickets!
