Beta Appreciation Day

Well, I think I'm in under the wire, but who would know. It's before midnight here, so it's still before midnight somewhere.

I am, however, eternally grateful to the following wonderful, unpaid, make-my-writing-not-suck betas:

Goddess extraordinaire. Neither of us knows why she picked my 90+ page Rohirric-centric story out of Parma to be beta'ed last August a couple of weeks prior to me being en route to Australia, but thank Eru and all things holy that she did. Before Jen, I couldn't have punctuated my way out of a paper bag. ['The comma goes inside of the quotation mark, lol!'] Thank heaven I've written hundreds of pages of fanfiction come a long way. When she reads a couple of sentences of mine now and writes, "Y'know, I've read this 4 times, and I still don't know what you mean," I know I need to work on it. She is truly a Goddess Among Women.

And she's MINE. So don't go asking her to be your beta. :P

Just kidding.

Other virtual flowers and the most expensive champagne I could buy go to:

I would wait months for your next writing. And your betas are always spot-on, and insightful. Thank you, thank you. Whether het or slash, you get to the source and point out the flaws. ♥

You've only done the one, but it was perfect. Poor, underserved HP het. Why do people only read slash?? *ponders* (((massive smooches)))

Through you, I've learned to be exceptionally wary of adverbs. Thanks to you, "The Hours" was a semi-finalist in two categories in the Mithril Awards. Amazing, absolutely amazing you are. And cutting. Which is part of the point.
(stifling hugs)

In other news, I want to thank myself for betaing for many others, and hope that we all are learning as we write.

Because isn't that the point??

**does happy dance for all beta writers, including her comrades-in-arms at HASA and checkmated.com**

I'm so glad that you're around! If only I could finish something to warrant needing a beta. *looks despondently at pile of unfinished stories*
