I'm not actually doing anything from home, except for my job search. I have had a conditional employment offer to work from home since 11/9, with the understanding that it would be a couple of weeks (now almost a month!) before I could get training and actually get on their books. That's why I've continued to look for something else. That position would be basically working as an answering service/customer service person for a whole slew of companies that this company supports. I'm a bit fuzzy on details, but it seems that there are chunks of time to do this, I think in a set of 2-6 hours spread out over mornings-nights and you bid on the time slots. If I had a good desk chair (which I would invest in if I do this) it's really not a bad thing, and quite flexible in some ways. Without the firm offer I just figured I'd keep looking and see if I could secure something definite with a noticeable difference in salary (or benefits) until it was all settled.
