I did! I'm on the sequel, now. :) Thiede doesn't have to give anybody any reasons— it's part of the reason why I dislike him so much. But: the short answer is, he'll do what it takes to create his new Wraeththu World Order. He needs Ashmael's full concentration, and Vaysh would be far too disconcerting for that. Plus, Thiede needs Vaysh, and wants his focus, and apparently the happiness of his own harish lovelies isn't really a priority for Thiede. We certainly see that in Pell and Cal, and Vaysh/Ashmael was a trial run for that, so I'm not surprised that Thiede says they can't communicate. Plus, I had to come up with some rationale- simple "Because I said so," seems to work for Thiede. :P
