I still think that although Ashmael has moved on, he might harbor a lingering question as to why Thiede would never tell him, "By the way, I resurrected your chesnari, and hid him away for a couple of decades."

I understand that he comes around and supports Thiede in the building of the new Wraeththu society based/headquartered in Immanion, but I still believe that Ashmael may (even if only in my own gap-filling mind) have had some kind of Serious Discussion with Thiede after he sees the resurrected Vaysh, along the lines of, "So. Were you ever going to tell me? Why did you keep that a secret?" It's not even so much Thiede's plans behind it, but that he doesn't tell Ashmael what he's done. I'll just formulate my own interpretation.
