Lumos, and how to find me!

Lumos is coming up fast and furious. I've already been planning what to pack. :P Since there are many of you on my flist that I'll be devastated if I don't get to see you and actually talk to for a while ([livejournal.com profile] snottygrrl, [livejournal.com profile] geoviki, [livejournal.com profile] redpiratemel, [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo, [livejournal.com profile] kerryblaze, [livejournal.com profile] tarie, for example), I'm going to provide some info about how I can be found. I'm staying at the Marriott itself, and if there's a bulletin board or somesuch, I'll post my room number. If you look at the Lumos programming schedule you'll see that I'm giving my talk on Friday at 3:00, so you know where I'll be at that point. I've been trying to promote my [livejournal.com profile] lumos_ronslash group, but don't have a lot of feedback yet. Hopefully those of us who are Ron-centric will find each other.

Anyway— just wanted to put that out there; feel free to email me and I'll send you my cell phone number as another way to get in touch. My charger broke at The Witching Hour, ergo my phone wasn't very helpful, but I think it should be good for this event.

Looking forward to it, besides also being nervous!!!

Have a fantastic time! And best wishes on your presentation (though you won't need them!) Please give John Granger my best if you get to talk to him. I'll be in Florida, giving a couple of policy lectures for the Cato Institute, so I'll be thinking of you, long distance style! *huge hugs*

You're so kind! I haven't done something like this in a while, but I keep reminding myself that people will be there because they're interested. It's bound to be a supportive crowd! Hope that your instruction goes well. Got my copy of your book yesterday, too. (((hugs and love)))

Remember how you wowed them at MythCon? You'll wow them at Lumos, too, I have no doubt. :)

By the way, you asked recently about my wrist, and I don't think I've yet replied. Thanks so much! It's doing remarkably well. I signed something like fifty books in Toronto, and it didn't hurt! I couldn't believe it. I still see the therapist once a month (that's as much to help with the arthritis as the post-op stuff), but I can honestly say that it isn't a factor, at least at the moment. It's amazing. You'll never know how much your kindness and care meant to me during that whole operation period.

Thanks for your good wishes. It should be fun, but I wish I was seeing your presentation!!!

I hope you like The Magic Ring. I really think it's a beautiful story. The best part, IMHO, is the use of the nested stories - everything you learn, even in the offhand stories one character tells another, is important. Everything is related. It's a beautiful example of that medieval interlace structure that makes The Lord of the Rings such a fascinating read. Thanks again for your help with the research! I hope you saw you're in the acknowledgements! :) *more huge hugs*
